Strength of Components
Fatigue Behavior

Main activity

  • Assessment, determination and improvement of component strength and service life (fatigue strength) under cyclic loads, taking into account the influences and aspects of materials, design and production technology
  • Planning, execution and statistical evaluation of cyclic tests under single-step tension-compression, alternating bending, rotating bending and torsion loading or under axial multi-stage or random loading
  • Cyclicn tests with extremely high numbers of cycles
  • Damage analyses of fatigue fractures, fractographic assessment of fracture surfaces, determination of failure causes, development and, if necessary, verification of remedial measures
  • Application of optimized surface hardening processes (inductive surface hardening, deep rolling, shot peening, stress peening, nitriding, case hardening)
  • Assessment, determination and improvement of component behavior under quasi-static loading
