Field of activity
The competence field “Metrological Developments” works out, also in interdisciplinary cooperation with other competence areas/fields, new application possibilities of the existing measurement and calibration technology and develops new measurements and calibration technologies with validation of the procedures, measurement uncertainty considerations and connection of the measured quantities to the national standards.
In the field of competence, interdisciplinary research is carried out on measurement and calibration technology tasks. The focus is on understanding the differentiation between material and metrological factors and their influence on the test result and the digitalization from the measuring chain to the application.
Interdisciplinary seminars and colloquia are held on materials science topics, especially at the interface to calibration.
