Comprehensive knowledge about the effects of stresses on functional properties makes it possible to modify highly stressed surfaces in a targeted manner by means of functional surface technology, e.g. to further develop or create new surfaces using suitable coating technologies and coating processes. In the area of surface technology, PVD coatings are available with the latest coating technology, e.g. to create multilayer coatings or targeted layer structuring depending on the requirements.
Furthermore, the characterization of functional coatings by means of modern testing equipment and coating analysis, e.g. indentation hardness testing (nanoindenter), microscopic characterization, determination of friction and roughness parameter.
