In the thermal joining processes of welding and brazing, expertise is available for investigating the causes of corrosion, e.g. sensitization of high-alloy steels, weldability of materials, advice on welding-related tasks, investigation of the influence of residual stresses on fatigue and stress corrosion cracking behavior, and contact corrosion due to the use of foreign filler materials. In addition, support can be provided in the selection of joining processes as well as buildup welding processes (e.g. plasma powder buildup welding, stellite) with appropriate materials and an assessment of the coating quality can be carried out.
